Changes to CSCS Card

People applying for an entry level green card will be required to achieve a knowledge based qualification called Health and Safety in a Construction Environment, to show that they have the basic knowledge of the most common H&S issues affecting construction sites. This will include manual handling, working at height, health risks on site, principals of risk assessment and working safely around plant and machinery. This training can be on the job training, computer based courses or workbook and classroom delivery.
It is likely that bodies such as CHAS and Safe Contractor will insist on the new green card being presented, except where current cards exist.
